Conventional Treatment Technology with the Unitank of Aeration & Sedimentation
WAY OF USE
ECOFLUID wastewater treatment plants MCROCLAR and MINICLAR are designed for treatment of small sources of domestic wastewater that cannot be connected to the municipal sewerage systems. Wastewater from sources such as individual residences, hotels, restaurant, small subdivision etc., is treated in two-model lineup of treatment plants. MICROCLAR, designed to serve up to 30 PE (Population Equivalent) and MINICLAR capable of serving from 35 to 500 PE. All wastewater produced by households including washing machines, dishwashers and garburators can be treated by the MICROCLAR and MINICLAR plants.
Both plants can be utilized in a variety of applications and uses. MICROCLAR’s uncomplicated construction and small overall dimensions make it suitable for under-performing septic tanks reconstruction, which they surpass in both treatment efficiency and cost effectiveness. The most inviting application for the MINICLAR plants is their use in decentralized wastewater treatment systems. MINICLAR serving clusters of residential or commercial development can save significant capitals costs by eliminating the need for often long and expensive force main to central treatment plant.
TECHNOLOGY DESCRIPTION
MICROCLAR and MINICLAR biological plants are integrated reactors with aeration and separation included within one tank. The technology, known as USBF, is based among other on two important principles, very low activated sludge loading and sludge blanket filtration. The plants do not require equalization tank, chemicals or heating. The only operational requirement is compressed air, which is supplied by a blower and used foraeration and activated sludge recycle. Larger MINICLAR include gravity thickener REOVIT where sludge is thickened to 4-6% d.s. content thus enlarging the available storage capacity and reducing operation costs.
ECOFLUID technology is patent protected and enjoyed by thousands of satisfied customers worldwide.
TECHNICAL CONCEPT
MICROCLAR and MINICLAR plants are factory manufactured package plants. Circular MICROCLAR and rectangular MINICLAR plant bodies and internals are fabricated entirely from plastic materials. Typically, the plants are installed underground and may be situated in close vicinity of the buildings. To maintain gravity inflow it is sometimes necessary to install the units deeper and use plastic body extender. For safety reasons the plants must be covered. The scope of supply includes influent pre-treatment (screening), plant body and internals, air blower(s), cover, pump sump or REOVIT sludge thickener and optional plastic body extender. Large units may be provided with a pre-fabricated housing module with pre-installed electrical panel, a blower, operating room and a bathroom. The company provides the necessary plant connection and start-up services.
In cases of reconstruction or enhancement of efficiency of old or malfunctioning plants capital cost reduction may be realized if the existing tanks may be reused. Pretreatment of sewage from large kitchens or restaurants mat need to include fat and grease removal equipment. Flexibility of the USBF technology enables high degree of design customization to meet the individual customer demands. If so requested by the client and specified upon ordering ECOFLUID can supply detailed design drawings and documents for plant installation, influent and effluent piping arrangement and electrical wiring.
ADVANTAGES OF USBF TECHNOLOGY
■ |
High quality effluent: Effluent parameters meet and exceed typical limits set by regulatory bodies (see tables). They are such in fact, that reuse of effluent for a variety of purposes may be considered or, upon approval by regulatory bodies, it may be discharged to waterways or storm water. |
|
■ |
Low operating cost: Reduced excess sludge generation and its stabilization significantly cut down operating costs. Provided that the operating instructions are followed, full aerobic stabilization of excess sludge can be guaranteed and the sludge may be used as fertilizer, thereby eliminating the need for transportation to a landfill. This and the low energy consumption ensure that the costs of domestic wastewater treatment become eminently affordable. Depending on the biological loading the intervals between the need for the plant desludging may be 1 to 2 years. |
|
■ |
Simple structure and reduced space requirements: Simple structure of the technological internals enables to accommodate the dimensions and shape of the plant to the needs of individual projects. The small dimensions substantially reduce built-up area demand. |
|
■ |
Complete elimination of odours: USBF plants do not produce primary sludge and the aerobic conditions throughout the process ensure that the plants do not emanate any odours. |
|
■ |
Operating reliability: Complete elimination of rotating parts results in much enhanced plant operating reliability. The tanks and the internals are fabricated from polypropylene and stainless steel guaranteeing their durability and long operating life. The plants are covered by standard warranty of twelve months for the MICROCLAR and twenty-four months for the MINICLAR wastewater treatment plant. |
DECENTRALIZED WASTEWATER TREATMENT CONCEPT
Decentralized wastewater treatment concept is best suited for remote subdivisions, communities with low built-up density, or those situated in hilly or otherwise difficult landscape where sewage collection and transfer to central plants often results in enormous rise in the overall construction costs. Long force mains and pumping stations can be entirely eliminated by using by building satellite wastewater treatment plants within or in proximity of subdivisions and housing clusters. In addition, satellite wastewater treatment plants can be built in phases on an “as needed” basis, eliminating the need for central plant future demand overspending.
